The Sodo Fashion Show + Market, a biannual runway event to support the Seattle Design Foundation, a non-profit that supports local designers and creative thinkers, announces their open call. The event was founded as a benefit and collaboration between emerging Pacific Northwest designers and artists. Last summer was the first show and this year they are hoping to expand its scope. The event takes place in a warehouse artist collective in SoDo, June 14th, with doors set to open at 7 P.M.

Carrie Gunnersen of Flagship Designs and Melanie Trygg of KLÄD Apparel are hosting and producing the event. They will be presenting their Spring women’s clothing collections on the runway along with a collaboration between Stylist Ciara Ramos and Seth Damm of Neon Zinn.  Doors are set to open at 7:30 P.M. with a runway show beginning at 8:30. A  local band to be announced will be performing directly after the runway show followed by the opening of the local designer market.  All pieces seen on the runway will be available after the show in the market, and a live DJ and cash bar will be running after the show until 11 P.M.

The June 14th event will be open to the public with online ticket sales by suggested donation as well as sales at the door of the event. Independent designers in the Greater Seattle area are encouraged to apply to showcase their collections to consumers by contacting Melanie Trygg of KLAD Apparel. A vendor fee of just 40$, which includes a booth and hanging rack, is a small investment that could pay off big in sales and exposure for your brand.
